Reveal Day at Sketchabilities!!!

It's October 30 and you know what that means!!!  No, not one more day until my birthday (well, it is, but that's not the reason to this post!)  Reveal Day at Sketchabilities!

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on it!  Since this is posted Halloween weekend, i felt it only appropriate to do a Halloween layout!  These pics are of my girlies and my niece and nephew taken a couple of years ago.....Mara~Little Dead Riding Hood, McKenna~Ghost, Micah~Witch, Jacob~Ninja, & Jenna~BumbleBee!

"The Spook Crew"

And the candy corn border is just something fun to put around the picture (it's not a part of my layout) given the holiday!!  Now, go create a layout using this sketch, post it, and copy the link to Mr. Linky back at Sketchabilities!

Now, be sure to come back tomorrow to wish me Happy Birthday! ;)

Sketch #33 @ Sketchabilities!!!

Holy cow, I just looked at the last time I posted something on here....1 month and 1 day ago!  Wow, time flies!!  October has definitely been THE busy month for pictures!!  I can hardly keep up with the editing!  But, it's all good....it's where I want to be!

Well, today is Reveal Day at Sketchabilities!!  Check out this awesome sketch by owner Karan Gerber.  So stinkin' cool, isn't it?!

And here's my take on the sketch!

Yes, that's McKenna.....many, many years ago.  She's so tiny!  I'm thinking it was in 2004 or 2005.  I'm such a horrible Momma for not knowing for sure! She was at the Pumpkin Patch with her preschool class.  Guess I was just waiting for the perfect sketch to come along to scrap these photos!  LOL!!

We'd LOVE for you to play along with us!  So, go and get your scrap on, create your version of this sketch, upload it and link it HERE!

Yay for me!

I <3 sketches.  I really, honestly do.  So much so I don't think I could scrap without them.  When a sketch grabs me, it totally puts me in the mood to scrap.  With the sketches at Sketchabilities, they all grab me.  Seriously.  I'm not just saying that for PR for Sketchabilities!  LOL!  PR you ask?  Why yes.....check this out!  (copy and pasted from the Sketchabilities blog)

Lark Ranch

Fall layout we are doing in club for September!  Using the GORGEOUS Autumn Spice DSP from the Holiday Mini.  I love this paper!!  I'm going to have to snatch some more of this DSP up before it retires for good in January!  Enjoy!

No, those aren't "fangs" coming off the bottom of the pumpkin stamp on the journaling block.....it's a shadow from the pumpkin because it's 3D.  One of the things you can't help getting sometimes when you're photographing the layouts in a bunch of natural light! LOL!

Little Dead Riding Hood

Halloween layout we are doing for September club using the awesomely awesome Nite Owl DSP from the Holiday Mini!  I was forced to try a wheel, so I used Haunting Hill jumbo roller for the bottom of the layout and the stamp set House of Haunts for the spooky tree on the journaling block.  TFL!

This digi layout was made using sketch #25 at Sketchabilities!

I recently was turned onto downloading free fonts....OMG!  I'm totally addicted!  The title for this layout used one of the new fonts I downloaded yesterday!  I'm a FONT FREAK!!!

Grandpa

The second layout we did at Club in July!  First time for me scrapping "vintage" photos....me, my sister, and my Grandpa Fooks circa 1982!  We used the DSP Newsprint and Broadsheet Alphabet for the title.  Enjoy!

Happy 8th Birthday, Micah Jo!!

Oh, my goodness!  Today I officially have an 8, 9, and 10 year old!  Sounds kind of cool, doesn't it?!

On her birthday wish list....a puppy, a netbook, and an American Girl doll.  Sure, no problem.  (whatever!) She's getting money from everyone.  That way she can decide what she wants to spend her money on.

She wanted to have her birthday party in Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Shane's garage with all of her cousins over to play and she wants a jell-o cake.  Done, done, and done!  She at least gets that part of her birthday wishes!

So, in honor of the birthday girl, I'm sharing a digital layout I did at a crop with the My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up!  Enjoy!

Make-n-Take

Every month at the downline meeting at Tiffany's we all take turns doing different things....being swap hostess, bringing snacks, sharing, and doing a make-n-take.  This month is my turn for the make-n-take and this is what I came up with.  I LOVE that new DSP Presto Patterns!  It's a little intimidating due to the fact you need to do other techniques to make the pattern show up.  I decided to make a quick and easy little card showcasing that paper and using a brayer.  Here's what everyone will be making!

I was a little nervous about the color combo.  I got it from the Color Coach, but it was making me nervous.  But, I love the end result!  That's why I love that Color Coach!  I would never have put these colors together, but they totally work!  I used the stamp set Butterfly Prints.  TFL!

My Swap card for Saturday!

Saturday is the downline meeting at Tiffany's!  Here's the card I made for the swap....criteria: "thank you" card with one In Color.  I was an overachiever with 3 In Colors! LOL!  Used one of my favorite sets from the new IB&C called Aviary.  Just a bunch of birds and different birdcages, but they are too flippin' cute!

Hey, all!  Sorry I've been MIA for awhile.  July was crazy busy around the Birrell household!  But, stay tuned, because I'll start posting some of my latest creations again starting this week!

Several of my friends have been participating in these Photo Hunt Challenges.  I've decided to throw my hat in and attempt it for the month of August!  Be sure to check out my photography blog on August 31 to see all of my 20 entries for the month!

Later, all!

On a Pedestal

This was a card we did for Stamp Club at the request of Susan after she saw a card I did for a sketch for Cardabilities.  I just had to change everything to SU stuff!  She has good taste, that was one of my favorite sketches i got to work with.  I purposely used the set On A Pedestal to show the girls that you can step out of the box and use stamps with other things than what the stamps come with in the set.  And, they got to play with the color spritzer which was a big hit!  Anywho, TFL!!

Birthday Wishes

This was a monochromatic card I did for a workshop and did double duty as a Stamp Club card as well!  I used a stamp set out of the Summer Mini called Watercolor Trio, which is beautiful and has gone over so well!  Used up some retired In Color of Bermuda Bay, which will be missed!  TFL!

Wedding swap card!

And another swap card I made for Tiffany's monthly downline meeting.  This swap theme was Wedding.  Very clean and simple card.  I used a new set out of the new catalog from the Level 3 Hostess set called Occasional Quotes.  The bird is stamped with the pretty flourish from Vintage Vogue.  Enjoy!

Father's Day swap card

This was a card I made for the monthly downline meeting swap I attend at Tiffany's house once a month.  The theme was Father's Day cards.  I used the stamp set Trendy Trees.  Steve said it still wasn't manly enough!  I have such a hard time making man cards!  TFL!
