An Award!

Thank you, Tiffany, for the award!

The Liebster Blog Award is given to bring new blogs to light. It's a great way to share blogs that might not otherwise be seen or ones you want to share with others.

As a recipient of this award I must share the love and pay it forward by:

1-Creating a post where I blog about the Liebster award & reveal my 3-5 blog picks
2-Let the honorees know that I selected them
3-Copy & paste the blog award on my blog

Now I have the huge task of narrowing down my favorite blogs that I love to visit and gain inspiration from so I can share them with you.

New blogs that you must visit are...

Bliss

And, the last layout I created at Crop for the Cure.  I was getting really tired by this point (12 hours of scrappin', chattin', and eatin'!!), so this isn't my most favorite-est layout, but it's not the worst I've ever done.  I used the SAB digi stamp set called Bliss, which I think is pretty, but I just don't know how to use it yet!

Halloween 2010

Now, this was awesome.  I created one layout featuring Mara in her costume.  I wanted to make a layout featuring McKenna and Micah in their costumes as well, but didn't feel like coming up with 2 more Halloween layouts using almost the exact same pics (that would be my ADHD kickin' in! LOL!).  Seeing the same pics and coming up with 2 more layouts that I actually liked as much as I liked the first one....I shudder at the thought.

So, Tiffany showed me how to "insert duplicate page".  Whoa!  Who'da thought that 3 little words would be such a H-U-G-E timesaver?!?!  I duplicated this exact page, deleted a couple of pics and inserted  a couple of new ones and VOILA!  This is what ya get:

And, "insert duplicate page" again.....

I know!  Too flippin' COOL, huh?!?!?!  Sorry, just one more reason you gotta love MDS!!!

Candy Dreams

And yet another color combo you're not likely to see on the Color Coach!  Once again, just using color that were in the girls' costumes for this.

Last summer, in between play practice for Willy Wonka, McKenna and some friends were preparing for the Talent Show at the annual Herbsfest in a neighboring town.  These girls worked their tails off with not as much parental involvement as one might think to pull off!  Everything was their ideas from the music, dance moves, costumes and props.  Their Grand Prize was well deserved!  I was so proud of them!

Willy Wonka

These pics of McKenna just crack me up!  Always a little ham.  I used different DSP's to match her costume.  You will definitely not see this color combo on the Color Coach! LOL!

These are the only pictures I have of McKenna in her debut play last summer as cameras weren't allowed during the performance.  Her summer was so busy with play practice, but I think she loved every minute of it and all the attention she got out of it!  Her official role was Oompa Loompa #7 and she had a really small speaking part and she got to be in the scene where Mike TV gets shrunk.

Home Remedy

Ok, I know the picture on here is pretty darn crappy.  But, really, it's the story that's funny the picture is just there to support the journaling.  Since I don't journal very often, layouts like this don't come around all the time, so bear with the horrible photo.

That would be a picture of my middle daughter eating supper one evening with a paper bag over her head.  She wore that bag on her head intermittently for a couple of weeks in December....as the stomach flu hit our house pretty heavy.  And, amazingly enough, she came out of it completely unscathed.  Not quite sure how that happened, but it has to be the bag, right?!

Thanks to my girly, Heather, for the title!  And, this layout was created using My Sweet Pea DSP and embellishments.  Any other questions about it, email me! :-)

Eek!!

I know, if I were really good, I'd be able to spout off everything I used on here.  Well, let's face it, I pretty much suck at that!  LOL!  If you really, absolutely, positively need to know what I used on here, just shoot me an email and I'll try and figure it out and let you know exactly what I used.  I will say that I'm pretty sure the font on here is a font I downloaded for free from the internet.  Where?  I have no idea.  Name of the font?  No freaking way am I going to go thru all my fonts and try to answer that question!  Sorry, folks, you'll just have to try and go to sleep tonite not knowing that little bit of info! ;)

Sidenote...these pics were taken with my phone!  As was the photos in the layout posted on Tuesday titled "8 inches!!"  Sometimes you just never know when pics on your phone will come in handy!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, fellow peeps!

This is, by far, my most favorite card I've created in awhile!

I made this using the Full Heart Punch and then embossing it with the square lattice embossing folder to mimic the clover on the stamp!  Simple card.  Couple layers of paper, the scallop eyelet border punch, a cute little bow and voila!

I used the single stamp Lucky Shamrock in the Occasions Mini.

8 inches!!

March 5 myself and several other girlfriends head out for Evansville for Crop for the Cure, a scrapbooking crop to benefit the Susan G. Komen foundation.  We've all been going together for the last several years and always have a fantastic time!  Last year I got the bright idea to only pack my laptop to use My Digital Studio and my sketch book instead of half of my scraproom and end up not using half of what I brought or need something I didn't bring!  It worked out beautifully, so I did the same thing this year, as well.  I got 9 layouts done!!!  And, I'll be showing those off this month, so be sure to check back often.

I know I've said this before.....but I just can't get enough of MDS!!!  I never thought I'd ever say that I LOVE DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING!!!  I hope you enjoy my creations and inspire you to try it out if you have yet to delve into the digital world!

Amour

A quick and easy card I made up for the make-n-take for a workshop last month using the stamp set Clearly For You in the Occasions Mini (which I got for FREE at Leadership in January, btw!)

We used a square punch, color spritzer, Elegant Soiree DSP, Decorative Label XL punch (Occasions Mini), and the Framed Tulips embossing folder for the Big Shot.

Happy Blogoversary to me!!!

Today is my BLOGOVERSARY!!  5 years ago today I created Scrap Happy!

Thanks, Teena, for the blogoversary wishes!  If it hadn't been for your comment, I wouldn't have even realized it! LOL!!

Happy Birthday

Another birthday card....I'm always needing birthday cards.  I saw this one on Stampin' Connection and I forgot who originally made this...I'm sorry!  Her card was actually a long skinny card and I changed it up to be a regular size card.  I used an embossing folder for the Big Shot and the stamp set from the Occasions Mini called Create A Cupcake and the matching punch (YES, MATCHING PUNCH!!) called Build A Cupcake.  Sentiment from the Level 2 Hostess set in the Occasions Mini called Something to Celebrate.

For You

This was a 3D project I made for a workshop last month to show off the new Petal Cone die for the Big Shot!  I love this die!  I have made this and an adorable little "Welcome" pennant (pics to come of that later, of course!)  I also used the stamp set from SAB called Punch Bunch and the Hostess set from the Occasions Mini called Something To Celebrate.  And a cute little bling to finish it off!

Stylish Blogger Award

Well, how awesome is this?!  To be recognized by a fellow crafter???  Thank you so much, Nicole, Melissa, and Tonya!  And, you all should check out their blogs...super cute stuff to spark your creative juices, I tell ya!

Rules of the award are as follows:
1) thank the person who gave the award and link back to their blog
2) share 8 things about myself

3) pass this award to 8 other individuals that I have recently discovered and leave a comment so that they can pass along the recognition!

Sooooo, 8 things about myself....

1.  I'm deathly afraid of spiders.  All kinds.  All sizes.
2.  I work as an X-ray Tech and I'm certified in Computed Tomography.
3.  I'm a photographer for a side job which I would LOVE to have become my full time job!
4.  I've been scrapbooking for almost 12 years now!  Seems unreal that I've stuck with a "hobby" for that long!
5.  I've never been much of a dog person, but got a little Yorkie Poo 2 years ago and couldn't imagine life without him.
6.  I hate mini vans.  Especially driving them.
7.  I love it that my hubby does all the grocery shopping!
8.  I like watching thunderstorms.

And....now to pass this along to 8 inspiring people...

Birthday Wishes

I've had this stamp set forever and haven't done a whole lot with it.  For letting us use her basement for a scrap weekend, Tiffany's Mom wanted use to make her a set of cards (she loves giving away handmade cards for occasions!), so this was the set I made for her using Funky Four and the SAB set So Happy For You.  I also used Play Date DSP and Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.

Thank You for Being You

This card is a CASE from a card I saw done by Mary Fish.  Except I put twine in the buttons (I HATE naked buttons!) and I embossed the background because it needed a little something more.

I used the Occasions Mini set Bold Blossom, Big Designer Buttons and some Pompom trim.  CUTE!!

Decorated Tea Light

I made these for a group of 12 year old girls to make at a birthday party earlier in the month!  The Mom told me about these adorable decorated tea lights she saw on Splitcoaststampers and wanted me to come up with an idea for the birthday party, so this is what I did!  I thought it turned out adorable!  The samples on SCS are AMAZING, but I had to keep it a little more on the simple side for the girls.  But, they all loved making them (and so did I!!)

Sew Glad We're Friends

I'm still not sold on this whole Sew Suite stuff yet, but I'm trying to work with it!  Don't get me wrong, it's super cute, but just not me!  So, this was my attempt at playing with it.  I used the Sew Suite and Pattern Pieces stamp sets.  I do love that little dressform stamp, though!  Sentiment is from Puns from the Past.  I also used a Designer Big Button in Melon Mambo.

ML

OMG, I lied to you!  I forgot that I actually did run out of that pattern paper and didn't have enough to scrap McKenna's in it and had to resort to some other.  Sorry.

SU border punch used on here.  Everything else is from my stash.  The chipboard flower is covered with paper and then sanded around the edges.  It's been forever since I've done that.  I've gotten to be a lazy scrapper I think!

Pic of McKenna is from Spring 2008.  Love her toothless smile!

MJ

Can you tell this was a pattern paper pack...since I've shown the last 3 posts done with this paper?!  And, the next post is done with this paper, too, just to prepare ya.  But, you'll be glad to know that that is the end of this pattern paper.  No more left!  :)

Still incorporated SU stuff for the 3 different border punches and the blushing bride and certainly celery ribbon.  Used up some more hoarded chipboard (non-SU).

Pics of Micah Jo are from Spring 2008.  So cute!
